View Ridge Family Support

Everyone occasionally needs a helping hand. In the same vein, many parents (and children) like the opportunity to do a good turn for others, whether that means cooking a meal for someone who's ill or helping create a gift for a someone in need. Family Support services are generally confidential. Our Family Support Committee provides the following:

School Supplies: Provides school supplies to any student in need.

Meals/Transportation: Meals and/or student transportation can be arranged for families during time of crisis due to illness, divorce, job loss, or other difficulty.

Giving Tree: The Giving Tree program provides gifts and books for school families. Families are referred through the staff or by parents (in years past View Ridge was assigned a district Family Support Worker who would refer and contact families for this program). Families within the school choose gift tags, purchase and wrap gifts anonymously and return these to the school office. All gifts are delivered by the Family Support Volunteer Coordinator and the Principal prior to Winter break. Assistance is, however, available year-round. On an as needed basis, a coat or other warm clothing (or other necessary item) may be provided to a child or family in need.

Scholarships: Camperships or other scholarships for school activities are available throughout the year.

Nurses Office Clothing: Clothing is available in the nurses office to temporarily replace clothes damaged at school (falls in puddles, spilled lunches, injuries/illness).
