View Ridge School Enrichment Program

The Enrichment Program, run by the PTA in collaboration with the View Ridge teaching staff, offers our students new ideas, skills and experiences, extending the boundaries of the class curriculum. The program consists of weekly before/after school activities and a series of special events spread over the school year.

School Assemblies: Arts, science and cultural performances by talented artists and professionals, selected to complement classroom learning. For example, Pacific Science Center and Book-It Theatre have hosted informative and dramatic assemblies and workshops. For a number of years we've celebrated Chinese New Year with a Lion Dance and assembly. In 2007, the World Harmony Run global torch relay team made a stop at View Ridge to deliver messages of hope, peace and international friendship.

Special Children's Author Visits: Several times a year, prominent authors and illustrators inspire our students with their imaginations and life-stories.

Brown Bag Lunches: In this popular series, volunteer speakers talk about their profession or hobby. The purpose is to expose students to a variety of pastimes, sparking participants' imaginations and future interests. Last year, speakers included a TV sportscaster, a dance-studio owner, an architect and a veterinarian.

Family Arts Night and The Science Fair: Major events in the school calendar that provide opportunities for students to tap into their creativity, take on new challenges and dazzle us with their talents. Participation, as a performer or spectator, is not to be missed!

Before/After-School Activities:
