There have been many talented Black Americans in Boxing. Two of the
greatest were Joe Louis and Muhammad Ali.

Joe Louis

Claim to fame:

 

Joe Louis held the world heavyweight boxing championship longer than any other man. He first won the title in 1937. Nicknamed the "Brown Bomber," he defended his title 25 times, scoring 20 knockouts.

   

Muhammad Ali

Claim to fame:

 

Born Cassius Clay, Muhammad Ali was a famous heavyweight boxing champion and orator. He battled in the "Fight of the Century" in 1971.
