Why should I give to the Annual Fund?

Instrumental music lessons, drama workshops, field trips, grade-level events, tutoring, classroom grants for every teacher...and this is just the beginning.

Every student at Thurgood Marshall benefits from the Annual Fund.   In the classroom, on the playground, before or after school, we are building our community and we welcome everyone to participate.

The Annual Fund helps to fill the gaps and provides funds that touch the lives of   every   student at the school. For example:

·  Classroom teachers simply do not receive enough for books, supplies or special projects and activities .   But the Annual Fund provides each teacher with $250 that she or he can count on in planning their enrichment activities.

·   Investments in our school building are supplemented by the Annual Fund, including new soccer goals, bulletin boards in the hallways to display our children's work, and resources for the library.

·    The Annual Fund allows our students to benefit from a full time music teacher, who provides free choir programs for all students before school, and instrumental music instruction during school.

·   Additional equipment and staff to ensure safety at recess are covered by the Annual Fund.

·   Professional development for all Thurgood Marshall classroom teachers in our Writing Workshop curriculum is supported by Annual Fund dollars.

  · And much more!

The PTSA and Principal Julie Breidenbach worked together to develop this year's school budget and we have a goal of $65,000.

To reach this goal, we welcome donations from every Thurgood Marshall family (and friends).   Whether you are able to give $5 or $500, your gift will be greatly appreciated by our entire community.     Thank you!

Please Note:

1. Thurgood Marshall PTSA   is a registered 501c3 charitable organization, so gifts are tax deductible.

2. Many companies, such as Boeing, Microsoft and Starbucks, will match employee donations. Check with your company's community affairs office to see about doubling the impact of your gift to Thurgood Marshall.
