Schmitz Park PTA and Washington Mutual Bank team up to present the School Savings Banking Program every THURSDAY morning before school. This program allows your student to have their own savings account and gives them the opportunity to begin learning valuable money management skills. If your student already has a school savings account, they may simply come in and bank each Thursday. If they do not have an account, a new account can be opened for them.

Packets for new accounts are sent home with students requesting them at the first part of October. Instructions are included in the packet for filling out the paperwork. Upon completion of the paperwork, your student may bring it in to banking and an account will be opened. An account may be opened at any time during the school year with a deposit as small as 25 cents. Additional deposits may be made for as little as 10 cents.

For every four deposits, children will earn school supplies; i.e., a pencil, bookmark, key chain, notebook, sport bottle, lunch bag, or other goodies!

Remember! Banking will be every THURSDAY from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the Computer Lab (Room 5). It is important that students do their banking before school begins. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer for this important program, please call either Julie Williamson or Kris Brandon at the school (252-9700).
