Personal and Professional History
I am enjoying my first year of teaching, both at Sacajawea and in the second grade. She recently graduated from the Masters in Teaching program at the University of Washington with endorsements in Elementary and Special Education.
When I am not teaching in the classroom, she enjoys teaching swimming lessons, spending time with her family, and playing with her goofy Golden Retriever.
Philosophy
I make sure that every child in my class meets their potential by
- monitoring whether and what they are learning
- adjusting what and how I teach based on evidence of their learning
- collaborating with others to improve student achievement
- providing an engaging and supportive environment for learning to take place.
