Homework
Each night, Monday through Thursday, the children will have approximately 20 minutes of homework. This is in accordance with the SSD homework policy for fifth grade. Please return the homework only when it is completed. In addition, every night each child is expected to do 30 minutes of reading. Please be diligent about the reading requirement; it will make a big difference in your child's reading progress.
In addition I have a bottomless extra Homework basket. Visit it as often as you like! I also am happy to give homework that is tailored to individual needs. If you need something harder or easier to work on just let me know. Enjoy!
Parent-Teacher Partnership
The school program in Room 102 relies heavily on parent volunteers. I hope that sometime this year you will all have an opportunity to take your turn. You can come in once or twice a month, once a week, or if you have a lot of free time you can be a full-time volunteer. We can use you! If you find yourself with a free hour come on in, there is always something to do! At home volunteers are also necessary, there are many jobs that can be completed at your home. Let me know!
