Personal and Professional History
I have been the Family Support Worker since 1998 at Sacajawea. I enjoy working with the parents of our wonderful students; it has been my pleasure to assist and support families in many different ways over the years when called upon.
After many years the Family Support Worker Program changed its major focus and I now spend the majority of the time focused on improving academic outcomes for a pre-determined number of focus students. This is measured by outcome results from the WASL and DRA. With this change we are better able to offer workshops for parents to help their children, organize tutoring programs, address academic barriers and help in other ways to increase academic successes.
The name of the program has changed as well; we are now the Family Support and Community Partnership Program.
