Past and Present Philanthropy Projects
2006/2007 School Year
- Sacajawea will be starting the New Year with a sock drive to benefit the Pioneer Square Clinic in Seattle. In exchange for the socks, students will receive an original painting by Pioneer Square Clinic nurse Mary Larson. Students are donating the art to the Sacajawea auction to raise funds for school-wide programs.

- Students raised money for Pakistan Earthquake relief efforts through a money for blankets drive.
- In partnership with Water 1st International, Sacajawea students donated coins toward safe water sources in Bangladesh. Special recognition was given to Rachel, a kindergarten student who saved her allowance for an entire year to give to charity.

- Heifer International
Through Heifer International, students raised funds for the purchase of a cow, two goats, and a beehive for the Coins for Cows program. Donations of livestock to a family in Africa provide both nutritional and financial resources to support families. Cows and goats provide milk and offspring for sale and consumption by the family.
Students also learned the concept of Pay It Forward, as the Heifer International Program promotes the sharing of the first female off-spring with others in need.
Where schools are beyond the reach for many African children, Sacajawea students and Heifer International provided several families with the income to pay for tuition and books for their children.
