Keyboarding is an important skill for Roxhill students. First grade comes to the lab this year so they will begin keyboarding in February. Second grade students begin with the Type to Learn 3 program which continues into the third grade. The fourth and fifth grade students use Jumpstart Keyboarding along with Type to Learn 3 and the web based BBC keyboarding program, "Dance Mat Typing".

Our first project was to copy clipart from an online folder that tells about us. We used PowerPoint to create our slide for you. We hope you enjoy our creations. We tried to be artistic and let you know a little bit about us.Click to enlarge.

MAP TESTING

This year the computer lab is being used to test all the students, kindergarten through 5th grade, in Math and Reading. We just finished our fall session. The tests were designed by The Northwest Evaluation Association, NWEA, and they provide the teachers with an accurate assessment of a student's abiliy, accurately measuring what a child know and needs to learn. Students will be tested in January and then in May so that teachers can find out whether an individual student, or an entire grade level, is making satisfactory progress in these basic skill areas.
