· Communicate about technology using developmentally appropriate and accurate terminology. Identify physical components of the computer system such as disk drive, monitor, printer, and mouse. Use appropriate language and behavior while using technology, as is appropriate to this grade band, i.e. computer, mouse, keyboard, monitor. |

3-5 |
· Discuss common uses of technology in daily life and the advantages and disadvantages those uses provide. |

6-8 |
· Demonstrate an understanding of concepts underlying hardware, software, and connectivity, and of practical applications to learning and problem solving. Use a VCR, camcorder, scanner, and digital camera as part of preparing reports and is able to connect these devices to a computer and operate them. |

· Make informed choices among technology systems, resources, and services. Students choose the best hardware and software to meet their needs. |
