Music at John Rogers Elementary
School
John Rogers Music Program
The music program at John Rogers is designed to provide every student
with learning opportunities and experiences that foster a lifelong
appreciation and understanding of music. Music education at Rogers will
consist of singing, playing a number of instruments, movement,
listening, and creating. Units and lessons for the music program are
designed to align with the state standards and grade-level expectations.

Music Club
The John Rogers Music Club is open to all interested 3rd, 4th, and 5th
graders. We will primarily be singing, but will also be playing
recorders, percussion, and other instruments as opportunities arise. The
club will meet on Mondays afterschool from 3:20-4:15, on the stage. Our
first meeting will be September 28th. Students can pick up a Music Club
enrollment form from music class or in the office.
The Music Club's first major performance will be the annual Holiday
Sing-a-long. This event is scheduled December 18th at 1:10 pm. We will
be performing traditional holiday favorites along with some new tunes as
well.
