Olympic View Elementary School

The Olympic View PTA raises funds throughout the school year with a variety of fundraising methods, enabling the PTA to sustain and strengthen the learning environment at Olympic View. Every spring the PTA Board determines how to budget these funds for the following year by consulting with the school principal and the OV community. PTA members then have the opportunity to vote to approve the final budget at the PTA general meeting in May.

Fundraising efforts enabled us to enrich every child’s learning experience. Last year some of the funds went towards the purchase of laptops and a mobile laptop cart for the entire student body to use, drums for students to use in multi-arts, a visit from a well know children’s author, a musical assembly, additional PE equipment, and a visit from the Pacific Science Center Van. Money raised also helps offset costs for field trips after school enrichment programs and 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade camps. These are just a few ways the OV community, through fundraising, enriches learning opportunities for all of our children.

Giving Fund - Ongoing
Do you want to donate to Olympic View but just don’t have the time to participate in other fundraisers? The Giving Fund is an ongoing direct donation fundraiser. Simply write a check to the OVPTA and your donation will go towards the programs listed above.

Gift Wrap Sale - Sept 21 – Oct 2
Great American Opportunities | This is always a successful fundraiser. Students and parents alike get the opportunity to earn money for a variety of PTA activities with this fundraiser. A large percentage of each purchase price will be used to fund some of the many PTA activities.

Fall Carnival - Saturday, October 17th | 3-7pm
Biggest Fall Fundraiser | Save the date! You won’t want to miss this fabulous community event and important fundraiser. Not only does this event raise funds but it also brings the community together to kick off the school year for an evening of fun with family, friends, and schoolmates. There are games, booths, great food, prizes and fun for the whole family. There are also many ways to volunteer for this event.

Snowflake Gala Live Auction & Dinner - Saturday, February 6, 2010
North Seattle Community College
Mark your calendars! This event is a great opportunity to get a babysitter, have fun with friends and support Olympic View at our biggest fundraiser of the year.

Spring Plant Sale - April 24 – 25, 2010
This weekend event is a wonderful Olympic View tradition that is supported by OV families and the larger OV neighborhood community. Hanging baskets, herbs, plants, and vegetables are just a few of items you can purchase at the plant sale. Volunteers are welcome and necessary for this event!

Spring Book Fair/Young Author’s Night
While perusing Olympic View students’ writing you can also purchase books for your child at the Scholastic Book Fair. Books for all ages are available!

The Scrip Program - Fundraising While You Shop!
Last year Scrip raised nearly $3000 for Olympic View.

Scrip is fundraising while you shop. Purchasing scrip for everyday expenses like food, clothing, and entertainment; gives the OVPTA a percentage of each dollar of scrip purchased. Scrip is available for purchase every morning before school at the PTA table.

Box Tops®
Last year Box Tops raised $454 for Olympic View.

Clip Box Tops from your favorite products. Look for the 10¢ Box Tops coupon on hundreds of your favorite products. You can find Box Tops on brands such as Cheerios®, Betty Crocker®, Pillsbury®, Ziploc®, Kleenex®, Hefty® and more!
