We are very happy to be able to welcome our new principal, Mr. Justin Baeder, to Olympic View.  Mr. Baeder emerged from a rigorous screening and hiring process as the person who we believe is the perfect match for Olympic View.  His professional preparation includes a Master’s Degree in curriculum and instruction from Seattle University and principal certification from the Danforth Program for Educational Leadership at the University of Washington.  He taught science at Aki Kurose Middle School prior to becoming an administrator, and has served as Head Teacher at John Hay Elementary School for the past two years. 

Our parents are invited to come and meet Mr. Baeder at our PTA meeting on Tuesday, May 13th at 6:30 pm.  Mr. Baeder will meet our students at an upcoming school meeting.  His job as principal at OV will officially begin on July 1, 2008.  Welcome Mr. Baeder!

We'll also celebrate the dedication of our hard-working parent volunteers, get a status report on the playground, we’ll present our budget for 08-09 and our slate of officers for next year’s Board. We will also have a presentation by a professional financial planner who will walk us though the variety of options for college savings plans. It’s not too late to start saving!
