2009-10 Volunteer Opportunities

There are a few jobs that start the first day of school that help make the transition run more smoothly for the students and school staff. I know it can be difficult to plan that far away, but if it looks interesting or you definitely know you would like to help, please contact Arden. I will be available throughout the summer via email or phone.

Box Top Coordinator: We are looking for one person to coordinate this low key fundraiser. The job includes sending out an information flyer, periodically writing reminders for The Eagle, and collecting, counting and submitting the Box Tops for cash (which brought in over $600 this year).

Kindergarten Transition: We need 3 volunteers per Kindergarten class to help guide students in the morning from the bus to the classroom; at lunch in the cafeteria and on the playground; and at the end of school from the classroom to the busses.

Compost Crew: Help supervise the compost crew in the cafeteria at lunch from 11:40 – 12:45 (sign-up for one or more days).

The playground project is complete!
Thank you to everyone who has contributed time, money, expertise, or moral support to this project, and to our playground committee for their leadership.

I want to extend a special thanks to Lucia Regan for overseeing this project for more than a year, through the process of obtaining grants, permitting, bidding, design, construction, and finishing.

The students of the Olympic View community will enjoy this playground for years to come.
