“This is cause for celebration! A human with imagination!”

_Timothy Twinge, Florence Parry Heide and Roxanne Heide Pierce, 1993

Here we are on the homestretch and it seems like I am in last.  So much is going on around here in the next 15 school days we have a lot to accomplish.  June always seems to fly by and I am not sure where it has gone.  I am making a concerted effort this month to stop and enjoy the events that happen.  So let’s all take a big breath and make it last.

I know many of you are anxious about next year and who will be teaching what and where.  Tentatively, here is the line up.  Please note, that many things can happen over summer and we may have to make changes.

Kindergarten:  Ms. Lorang and Ms. Marquez

Blended Kindergarten:  Ms. Sherman

First Grade:  Ms. Niemeyer and Ms. Michel

First and Second :  Ms. MacDougall

Second grade: Ms. Jesse

Second and Third: Ms. Hanover

Third:  Ms. May

Third and Fourth:  Ms. Minar

Fourth:  Ms. Amato and Ms. Wilder

Fifth:  Mr. Sanders

Our fifth grade will be the students in the portable next year and in future years.  It is much easier to have the older students in portables as they can handle the walk in and out.

If you have a placement request for next year be sure to put it in writing.  As we look at creating classrooms, we look at a variety of aspects.  We look at the ratio of boys to girls, friendships, and number of years with one teacher, special educational needs, volunteers and other criteria that we need to consider.  We try to balance each class so that any teacher could walk in and take over if necessary.  North Beach has strong, dedicated teachers and we know that your child will do well with any of them.  From my observations, there is not a teacher or staff member here who does not want the best for your child and works hard to make that happen.

North Beach staff would like to invite all you volunteers to join us after school on June 10th for a volunteer appreciation tea.  We want you to know how much we appreciate all you do for North Beach kids and staff.

Also, June 5th we will hold our last virtues celebration.  We will start at 2:15 as a whole group to talk about Unity and then have celebrations in our families.  If you are one of our volunteer leaders, please let me know in advance if you are unable to make it.  We want each family to have a celebration with a small snack and activity for unity. It will prove to be a fun end of the year celebration.  Come join a group if you can.
