So please, oh please, we beg, we pray, go throw you TV set away, and in its place you can install a lovely bookshelf on the wall.

I do hope all of you get the time this coming spring break to enjoy some quality time together and if it includes reading books, that is even better! This is your last vacation before the end of school so enjoy.
We are looking forward to your return and the work ahead of us before summer. We are keeping track of the numerous tardies and absences and ask that you make that last change in your schedule to head out the door a little earlier each day to get your student to school on time. As you know, we also have our WASL test ahead of us and we do like students to feel prepared and ready and on time. I use to tell kids that the test was for us adults more than them. I definitely do not want any child believing that the WASL has anything to do with passing the current grade they attend.
Thanks to everyone for working with us with the traffic flow out front. It has gotten better but we still need some fine-tuning. Remember; do not park the wrong way on the street. Because this is an arterial, it is illegal. If you do park going the right way and walk across the street, we ask that you use one of the safe crossing walks that are managed by our safety patrol. Last but not least, no U-Turns in the front of the school. Thanks
Please join me this Thursday the 27th at our PTA general meeting. We will have the pleasure of Gloria Mitchell and Linda Hoste joining us to talk about district topics as well as our long awaited math waiver process. Now that we have the formal process in hand we can be positive that our request for a waiver to continue to use Saxon math will be considered and reviewed carefully. I have appreciated the pro-active approach to this dilemma from everyone and will continue to appreciate it in the future. The formal meeting starts at 7 pm and I would love to see everyone at 6:30 for dessert and social time.
Speaking of social time it is once again time to have our Friday together in the mornings. This Friday, March 28th right after the bell rings for the kids to come in, join me in the front foyer for fun and beverages. Bring a treat if you like. I am looking forward to seeing you all there.
One last reminder, this Thursday is our Virtue Assembly on Humility. Please join us if you can at 2:30 to celebrate the students who worked above and beyond on this virtue. We will have a film crew here from King 5, as they will be showing a special in April before the Seeds of Compassion event on virtues and values. North Beach will be featured. I will let you know the exact time and dates when it will be aired.
Have a wonderful spring break.
