“Poetry and Hums aren’t things which you get, they’re things which get you. And all you can do is to go where they can find you.
_The House at Pooh Corner, A.A. Milne, 1928
Here we are at the closing of another year. I hope it has been a happy one for all of you.
I want to thank Cothron MacMillian, Principal of Whittier for including all our third grade students in a grant to the Ballard Rotarians. As part of the grant all our third graders and many other third graders in the city received their very own dictionaries.
Our new lunchroom schedule is working smoothly. Students can now go out as soon as they finish their lunches. This means less wait time and less chaos. We can always use more help in the lunchroom supervising the tables. Come in any day, I will put you to work!
Our teachers, Ms. Niemeyer and Ms. Linh-Co have finally signed their contracts and will be with us through the end of the year. We are pleased that these two teachers are a permanent part of staff. Ms. Smith continues as our hourly tutor helping in the first grades.
Don’t forget to meet me this Friday in the lunchroom from 9:10 to 9:30 for hot chocolate and donuts. We have to be out promptly at 9:30 as 3 classes meet in there but we can have fun in 20 minutes.
In closing, I wish you the happiest of holidays, and a very peaceful New Year. Enjoy this time with your family and friends. May you all be safe and healthy.
Peace,
Joanne Bowers
Principal
