Salutations.
I have to brag about our wonderful North Beach Students. Last week during first lunch, just as all the wee ones were getting started on eating, and wham, our ears were deafened by the fire alarm going off. Students stopped, listened to directions and we immediately left the building and stood in the pouring rain. I am so proud of these students and our staff who have obviously done a wonderful job teaching and modeling safe behavior during a fire drill. So thank you everyone for doing a fantastic job.
Many of you know that we have three guest teachers in our building to help with our overcrowded classrooms and to help create smaller groups for our Saxon math program and reading groups. As of today, we are still in a hiring freeze and will continue to use our wonderful guest teachers until our positions are posted and we are able to hire.
Being a principal is multi-faceted and as I go about my day, I realize how wonderful it is to be amongst your children. I truly enjoy being in the classrooms, playing on the playground, supervising the lunchroom and getting to know the personalities of our students. Relationships are at the heart of a school and I think it important to nurture and cultivate them. It is our relationships that with each other that will create a life long learner. Our virtue program is a great way to model this both at school and at home. This Thursday, we celebrate those students who have had outstanding respect this month. I hope you can join us on Thursday at 2:30 to celebrate this virtue with all our students and families.
Have a wonderful week. Enjoy our summer like weather while it lasts.
