From the Principal

Salutations North Beach Families,

Thanks to everyone on BINGO night who volunteered especially Bobbi Miller (who shouldn’t have been here) and made it a wonderful evening.  It was great to see so many families enjoying the festivities.  Thanks to all North Beach Families who support these fundraisers as they help with all the extras around here.

Thanks again to everyone who is making a conscious effort to follow the drop off and pick up guidelines in the front of the school.  Please remember, during drop off and pick up times, you may not park in this zone.  If you have one of these license plates we ask that you abide by our simple safety checks to keep all the students safe at North Beach;  Dark Green Camry 433 RFA (parked in load zone), Silver Honda 209 XRW parked wrong way on arterial, Black Jeep 041 WPS parked in load zone. VW Passat 761 WJF parked in load zone.  Thanks everyone, it takes all of us to make it work.

Remember, next week is conference week and there is no school for the students.  Staff will be here hard at work meeting with all of you.  Please be sure to schedule your conference if you have not done so already.  I want to thank our teachers and staff in advance for their hard work this year.  We have accomplished a great deal in a few months and I am very proud of the work that has gone into this school year.

In closing, I want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.  Enjoy your family and friends.  The older I get, the more I know that spending this time with your friends and family is so important.  Thank you all for all you do for North Beach.

Peace,

Joanne

From the Office

We appreciate everyone who is making good use of e-mail for communication.  Please remember that our teachers spend their day teaching.  They may not be able to check their e-mail during the day, so please do not rely on e-mail for urgent concerns such as today’s after school plans.

On that note we’d like you to know that it can be difficult to get messages changing plans to your students during the last hour of school.  PLEASE don’t ask us unless it is truly an emergency.  Please teach your child to come to the office if you are not at the agreed upon pickup spot.  If you are running just a few minutes late (5-10 minutes) don’t call the office, just know that your child will be waiting in the office.

From the District

It is the policy of the Seattle School Board to encourage and support family involvement in education, at home, in our schools and communities, and in school governance.  The Board recognizes the diversity of the family structures, circumstances, and cultural backgrounds and respects families important decision- makers  for their children’s education.  The Board is committed to the creation and implementation of culturally inclusive and effective school-family partnerships throughout the School District and in each school, and believes these partnerships to be critical to the success of every student.
