Me llamo Señora Colette Blangy.
Welcome to Spanish!
I am thrilled to be joining the outstanding staff here at Loyal Heights Elementary. Like you, I am a parent. I have two sons, ages three and nine months, who will eventually attend Loyal Heights Elementary. I have always wanted to teach in my community, and especially at my child’s school, so I jumped on the opportunity to teach here.
Foreign language has always been an important part of my life. French is my native language. I learned English as a second language in elementary school. I studied Hebrew as a teenager, and added Spanish to my language ‘hobby’ in college. I received my bachelors and masters degrees from The Evergreen State College. My masters degree in teaching led me to Aki Kurose Middle School (formerly South Shore Middle School,) where I taught French and ESL, among other subjects, for the past fifteen years.
I am looking forward to getting to know you and your children. I know this is going to be an excellent year for all of us. I am excited to begin sharing what I know and creating a little Spanish-speaking community at Loyal Heights Elementary.
