I feel lucky to have been welcomed into the Loyal
Heights community this year as a Kindergarten teacher. First, a bit about me. I grew up in Lake Forest Park with my parents and my younger brother and sister who are twins. While growing up I enjoyed swimming, gymnastics, and traveling to visit family on the beaches of the North Carolina coast. I received my degrees (undergraduate in psychology, teaching certificate, and Masters in Teaching) from the University of Washington. Go Huskies!!

When I am not teaching you can find me cheering for Seattle sports, reading, cooking, doing yoga, and catching up on sleep!
The 26 students in room 4 are energetic, fun and love learning. We will be a busy group this year! I believe that Kindergarten is a very important year where my most important job is to get the children to love school and to want to come back. I also strongly believe in building a close classroom community where each of us feels safe to take chances and experience learning
together. Parent participation, both on field trips and in the classroom, is greatly appreciated. I hope that you are able to find this website useful to you throughout the year. There will be links to resources for parents and students, newsletters, and homework and hopefully more too!
