FROM THE PRINCIPAL

As this school year goes flying by in a blur, please slow down and take care of yourself and your family. Beginning with proper diet, exercise and rest your body will be better equipped to ward off illnesses. The flu season is alive and well and making many Beavers feel not-so-well. Flu is an infection of the nose, throat and lungs that is caused by influenza virus. Some parents are noting that for their students it started off with mild common cold like symptoms but within a few hours temperatures over 100 degrees materialize. Other symptoms such as cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, vomiting, diarrhea, and fatigue may accompany the fever or show up in combinations. We all need to be vigilant in lowering the chance of spreading colds and flu with some basic precautions:

PTA News

November is a good month to think about our PTA’s mission to foster a connection with our community because we have many activities this month that involve our community including continued community engagement on the new student assignment plan, the election on November 3rd, and Harvest Night on November 12th, but community is an important theme every month as it is an essential ingredient of our PTA. In this year so far, I have already seen so many occasions where our community came together to support Loyal Heights.
