MORE WISHES – Please Help!

Share your time or gently used item, sponsor something for the kids, or chip in with some friends to purchase it. Email JulieW@msn.com if you can help with any of the following:

Becca’s class in room 208 would love donations of gently used boys pants, preferably sweats, sizes 10, 12, 14, used clipboards, used toddler, preschool, or kindergarten-first grade software programs for Mac or PC, a vacuum (for student use in teaching independent living skills),  slant boards, outdoor carpet (the type that hook velcro will stick to) to cover a chalk board, tall book shelves (approx. 7 feet)

Toddler/Pre-school Toys: John Conom’s Special Ed class would love gently used toys your kids have outgrown – books, games, stacking toys, easy puzzles, action figures, toy cars, things that make noise, etc. Please bring to room 205.

VanDegraph static electricity maker for teaching electricity: Candace Jacobsen’s class. $180

Love Seat: gently used or sponsor a new one with a washable cover from IKEA ($250) for Marc Nelson’s Special Ed class

Vacuum Cleaners: for Spring Zoog’s and Tamra Peterson’s classrooms. Gently used or sponsor a new one $50-$129/each.

White boards for Spring Zoog – she currently uses a shower wall from Lowe’s!

Blinds: It’s hard to use the overhead projector when you can’t darken the room! And Nurse Sandi would love to keep the sun from beating down on feverish kids. Please sponsor blinds at $500 per room for the nurse’s office, Ms. Jacobsen, Ms. Peterson, Ms. Vosti, or Mr. M. Nelson

Volunteer Time: ask your teacher what they need and see below for spring cleaning opportunities

Spring (classroom) Cleaning

Please help! Despite our custodial staff’s best efforts, the reduced cleaning budget means that grime piles up in our classrooms during the long muddy winter.

We are looking for a volunteer from each class, to organize a classroom spring cleaning for their child’s room especially for Ms. Dorje, Ms. Zoog, Ms. Horrigan, Ms. Gilpin and Ms. Jacobsen. Your job would be to find a date that works for you and your teacher, invite/email your class parents (and kids if they want) to show up with cleaning supplies and go to work for 2 hours. Email JulieW@msn.com if you can coordinate your classroom’s spring cleaning. Thank you!
