Why?
An award-winning writing program, instrumental music lessons ...visiting poets, drummers and Egyptologists ... these are the kinds of things that make Lowell's education top notch.
Sadly, the school district can't pay for them all.
Fortunately at Lowell School the Annual Fund helps bridge the gap, providing funds that touch the lives of every student at the school. For example:
• Our classroom teachers now receive almost nothing through public funding for supplies or books for special projects and activities . But the Lowell Annual Fund gives each teacher a generous grant that she or he can count on in planning their enrichment activities.
• The Annual Fund pays for arts and drama programs in every grade .
• The Annual Fund provides the critical bridge funding for a part-time instrumental music teacher to expose children to the pleasure of creating instrumental music together.
Last spring, the PTA and Principal Gregory King worked together to develop this year's school budget. To help fill the gap between what would be needed to provide the best to our students and what Lowell would receive from the School District, the PTA set a goal of $ 65,000 for the Annual Fund.
To reach this goal, we need every family to donate. Whether you can give $5 or $5000, your gift will be greatly appreciated by our Lowell community. Thank you!
