2nd Grade

In 2nd grade, we share our supplies with the whole class (except for pencil boxes and notebooks), so that most materials become the property of our learning community.  Please DO NOT bring your own pencil/crayon sharpener, scissors, or personal supplies.

  • One ream white photocopy paper 8 ½ x 11
  • One regular size plain pencil box, about 8x5x2 (no dividers, NOT LONG OR LARGE) – please label with your child’s name.
  • One dozen #2 pencils  (please no Rose Art brand)
  • One box of 24 count Crayola crayons
  • One box 24 count colored pencils (Crayola preferred)
  • One pkg. of water-based markers –
    NOT SCENTED (Crayola preferred)
    “Skinny markers” – students with last names A-L
    “Fat markers” – students with last names M-Z
  • Three ultra-fine point Sharpie pens
  • Three Pink Pearl type erasers or Magic Rub/art type erasers
  • 6-10 glue sticks (WHITE/CLEAR, not purple, blue or other color)
  • One theme/composition book (often with black spotted cover , “sewn” binding)
  • One homework folder with two pockets (consider buying an exgtra replacement to save for midyear)
  • Post-Its, small size, approximately 1 ½” x 2”
  • Water bottle with POP-UP top only – label with name
  • One box of Kleenex from students with last names A-L (names M-Z will be requested later in the year)
  • One container of hand wet wipes or baby wipes - UNSCENTED – students with last names A-L
  • One container of hand sanitizer UNSCENTED - students with last names M-Z

Donations of items for classroom use are welcome:

  • Extras of supplies above for students unable to purchase their own
  • One container antibacterial wipes – unscented if possible
  • Student scissors (Fiskars preferred)
  • Fine point Sharpies – black
  • Brown clipboard (no designs please)
  • Other size Post-Its

Supplies will be provided if you are unable to purchase them.  Contact your classroom teacher and leave a message with your name.  The supplies will be waiting for you on the first day of school.

Note:

If you mention Laurelhurst School
(#70107305) to the cashier at Office Depot anytime you shop there, they will donate a percentage of the sale back to our school.
