Welcome to the beginning of a new school year! I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce my classroom and myself to your family.
I want to start by sharing my teaching background. I received my Master’s in Teaching at the University of Minnesota. I have over five years of teaching experience, in which I have taught Reading, Language Arts, and Science to 7th graders. Before I received my Master’s, I taught preschool and worked in special education.
I am extremely excited and fortunate to be part of the Laurelhurst community. I am looking forward to being your fifth grade teacher and getting to know all you.
My teaching philosophy is that children all learn at different rates and in different ways. I vary my instruction to try to meet the needs of the students in my room. Students will be asked to present information in many ways. Students will be encouraged to take ownership of their own learning by teaching others. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, and students should feel safe to take risks. We will be working on many hands-on, minds-on activities throughout the year.
There are many challenging and exciting units this year. In addition to the curriculum, there are expectations that I have for the students in order for learning to happen. I would like for you to be aware of these expectations and consequences in order to support what happens in the classroom. My expectations are as follows:
These expectations are in place to create a safe and comfortable learning environment for all students.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel to call me at school, preferably after class is dismissed at 3:20 P.M. My classroom number is 206-252-5416. You may also email me at vijambor@seattleschools.org.
Thank you for your support in your child’s education!
Truly,
Victoriya Jambor
