Dear Laurelhurst Families,
Welcome back to school from the Laurelhurst PTA! It’s hard to believe that it’s time to start a new school year already! It seems like we were just lining up on the hot North Playground to buy ice cream on the last day of school! We’ve got lots of fun ahead of us this year and we’re looking forward to plenty of good times and great memories!
We would like to extend a special welcome to those families that are new to our school. We’re so glad you’ve joined us. Starting school in a new place is a big transition and can sometimes feel overwhelming. Our goal at Laurelhurst is to make sure you feel cared for and included. We think you’ll find lots of friendly faces and families here and a community that thrives on working together!
The PTA at Laurelhurst Elementary is an active part of the school’s culture. PTA- sponsored events and activities throughout the year help to fund things like the Reading Specialist, Math Tutors, Sound Partner Tutors, librarian, the Music and Art programs and much more!
Getting involved at Laurelhurst is a great way to meet parents and ensure that your child’s experience at school is the best it can be. Regardless of your schedule, whether you’re a mom, dad, grandma, or nanny we’ve got something you can do and have fun doing it! Join us at the Welcome Coffee Hour and find out about many of these volunteer opportunities!

After you drop your child/children in class, join us in the gym for a time to meet other parents, and learn about all the opportunities to volunteer and get involved .
