Playground Update
Construction is under way! We welcome the bulldozers and trucks on our playground. The students are adapting quite well to the new routine. Thank you all for your continued support and patience for this exciting project. Soon, the children will be climbing and playing on the new playground. We expect to be done by the beginning of January. Due to the approaching winter the asphalt will be laid in the spring. It is too cold and wet for the construction company to complete this portion of the project. We’re going to be continuing our fundraising efforts to pay for the asphalt, as we are still a little short. We’re looking for excited parents who would like to help us with some fun fundraising ideas. We’ve got some great ideas; we just need people to help facilitate them. Please consider helping us raise the final funds for the South Playground. If you are willing to help out, please contact Catty Colee at c.colee@comcast.net.
We want to send out a BIG thank you to the Laurelhurst PTA for their recent donation of $14,750 to the playground project. We appreciate your continued support. Also the Children’s Hospital has also donated another $5000 to our project making their investment in our school $10,000. Thank you to Children’s too.
We will be unloading and assembling the play equipment as well as laying the wood chips over the holiday break this winter. We know it’s a busy time of the year and we’re hoping to find a group of folks staying in town for the holidays and willing to share some of their time to see that the play equipment is up, safe and ready to go when the students get back. We’ll need:
