Student Intervention Team
At John Hay, we are committed to the success of every child. The purpose of the SIT meetings is to provide an opportunity for families and school personnel to come together as a team to discuss individual student progress. The meetings are brainstorming sessions where we discuss strengths, concerns, and strategies used to support each child. Several John Hay staff members may attend the meeting. Each member brings specialized knowledge and experience that will help us develop the best plan for every child. Those attending may include:
- Principal or head teacher
- School psychologist
- Resource teacher
- Occupational therapist
- Speech-language therapist
- School nurse
- Reading specialist
- Classroom teachers
