This big fundraiser is an all-day celebration! Students collect pledges, run/walk laps around the school, and proudly turn in the funds they've earned. Please come cheer on our runners! Or sign with a Volunteer Form.

Help Us Go For the Gold!

On Friday, October 16th all of our students, their teachers, our staff and hopefully some of you parents will be "moving" (walking, jogging, running) on a course around our school. Our goal is to raise funds for programs that enhance the learning experience at John Hay so that every child succeeds!

Why a School Community Fundraiser?

Great neighborhood schools build strong communities. That's why we need everyones help! School budgets have been cut and available funds go just so far. But through parent and community fundraising, John Hay offers tremendous programs that help us teach to the individual needs of every child. This is one of two fundraising opportunities that benefit John Hay programs, so let's make this one count!

Student achievement at Hay is soaring, but we need to keep it up and that's why we set ambitious goals. Our success depends on all of us -- students, parents, teachers and the community working together to support and contribute whatever we can. Please join us in this important effort!!

What does my child need to do?

Pledges are key to the success of the Move-a-thon. Pledges represent the amount that a donor will pay for each lap around the school the student completes during the allotted time on Move-a-thon day. Kindergartners, 1st and 2nd graders will "move" for 20 minutes (3-5 laps). The 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will "move" for 30 minutes (7-10 laps). Per lap pledges are collected and turned into the school after the event. Advance donations are also accepted.

How Can You Get Involved?

Move-a-thon pledge envelopes with additional details will be coming home with your child soon. In addition, volunteers are very much needed to make this event a huge success. Here are our volunteer FORMS.
