Drama Program

The drama program at John Hay concentrates on building confidence, focus abilities, and social interaction skills by encouraging creative expression using both vocal and physical exercises. Reaching all grade levels, drama offers a wide variety of activities including improvisation, story telling, scene and monologue work, theatre games, and much more! Activities are designed to help expand upon classroom work and give opportunities for students to strengthen reading and writing skills as well.

In addition to in-school activities, drama clubs are offered before and after school for students who have a great interest in performance. The Creative Club for K/1 students meet before school while The Character Club (2/3) and Performance Club (4/5) meet after school.

In-class work and drama club sessions conclude with a performance at a quarterly "Art Night" to showcase work and support Arts in Education.

You can find more information about the current drama program on Mr. Warrender's website.
