Program Overview:

The mission of the R.I.S.K. Learning Center - Reinventing Innovative Steps to Knowledge - is to provide an unconventional education alternative to public hgh school where homeless or street-involved youth can learn and earn their G.E.D. or high school diploma. The RISK Learning Center strives to meet youth on their terms, educatinally and otherwise, and to meet youth's basic needs before expecting youth to learn and succeed.

The RISK Learning Center might be a terrific fit for you if you:

  • want to get your GED already!
  • have some motivation and desire to finally do it - and need some tutoring, cheerleading, and enthusiasm in a small school environment.
  • work well in a flexible, small (5-10 students), casual school.
  • are homeless, street-involved, or have difficult stuff going on in your life.
  • haven't enjoyed 'traditional' school.
  • can attend school from 2pm - 6pm, or need flexible hours.
  • feel that education is bigger than school...but is a constant way of questioning the world around you.
