Alder is a program of the Seattle School District serving students at middle and high school levels
We
have in place a diverse and passionate
staff that provides a wide array of educational and transitional
services to youth, in conjunction with life skills and law-related education.
Alder also services students in the electronic monitoring program of the Youth Detention Center. Our staff works in a collaborative partnership with various community programs, probation counselors, and Juvenile Court.
Our students' academic goals vary from person to person. The majority of our youth are working towards high school diplomas, with the opportunity to work at a pace customized to each individual.

Students also have the possibility to complete their General Education Diploma here at Alder. The final aspect of our program includes individuals who are not in school but have been court ordered to do so because of truancy or other issues.

These opportunities
coupled with an ethnically diverse teaching staff and curriculum
geared towards today's inner city youth all add up to one of the
most unique educational experiences around.
