Sometimes students can best excel when challenged to handle more than they think they can. With this Multi Arts Program and its variety of disciplines (ranging from the performance activities of Drama and Hip Hop to the hands-on areas of Visual Art and Journalism), the students experienced a wide choice of interests, discovering connections between subjects that they might not have recognized before. Three teaching artists working together ran this simultaneous arts center, allowing students to be guided by their interests, contribute their strengths, and stretch themselves beyond their own expectations. Having the major arts disciplines in one room inspired students to see
connections between different mediums of creation.
