Hello and welcome to the
Highland Park Elementary Community. We are so pleased to have you visit and
become familiar with who we are and the wonderful opportunities we provide
for our students. I have been the principal of Highland Park since January of
2004. Prior to that time, I served the Seattle Public Schools as Leadership
Development Coordinator for four years. I have had the privilege over the
years of serving students in Texas and Washington as a special education
teacher, school counselor, assistant principal, and principal. My background and work experience have been in schools that
serve culturally and ethnically diverse communities. Highland Park is one of
the richest culturally diverse schools in the Seattle School District. As you
visit our various web pages and get to know our staff, students and
educational programs, you will sense the unity and pride that we all feel as
part of this school. Our staff works diligently daily to provide a rich and
challenging educational experience for our students. We continuously work
together as a staff to align our curriculum, teaching strategies, and our
many support programs to meet the needs of all of our individual students. Please take the time to visit our teacher web pages to become
