Student Expectations/Code of Conduct 1. Respect yourself and others by: Ø
Demonstrating a positive attitude Ø
Maintaining self-control 2. All students will walk quietly and in an orderly manner. 3. Weapons, and toys resembling weapons, electronic devices, and
fireworks, in any form are unacceptable on school property or at school
events. 4. Fighting, disrespectful language, intimidation, bullying,
harassment, and/or rough playing are not responsible behaviors and are
unacceptable. 5. We will keep our school clean by caring for school property at
all times. This includes restrooms, playground, hallways and classrooms. We
will keep our hands and feet off the walls and throw all trash in the garbage
cans. 6. Food will be consumed in the lunchroom unless under a teacher’s
supervision. No gum or candy is allowed unless under staff supervision. 7. We will respect the property of others. 8. No drugs, alcohol, tobacco or unauthorized prescribed or
over-the-counter medication is allowed on school property or at school
events. 9. All students out of class for errands or office visits must have
an individual pass. 10. Student will observe Seattle Public Schools dress code: Ø
No midriffs, tank tops with spaghetti
straps, or halter tops Ø
No clothing with inappropriate language Ø
No hats Ø
No sagging pants, bandanas or do-rags Ø
No flip-flops **NOTE: Dress code violations will be
given alternative clothing. Removed items require parent pick-up. If you choose not to respect the Code of
Conduct, one or more of the following will be enforced: Ø
Discipline in accordance with individual
classroom and/or grade-level management plans Ø
Parental contact Ø
Referral to the school counselor or head
teacher Ø
Restitution Ø
No recess Ø
Parental conference request Ø
Suspension Ø
Loss of privileges Ø
Expulsion Responsible behaviors will be rewarded
throughout the school year through our school’s positive discipline program.
This includes “Caught Ya” cards (students get caught doing the right thing
and can win prizes in a drawing), special assembly privileges, Student of the
Week recognition, and individual classroom incentives. |
