Academic Progress
Progress reports will be issued for grades
K through 5 at each trimester, three times per year. One of these reports may
be given to you at your November Parent/Teacher conference. Conferences: Parents are encouraged to confer with the school staff. If you desire a conference with the teacher, please arrange for it in advance. A note to the teacher or a telephone call to the office for an appointment is necessary. It is not possible to have an effective conference when the teacher has students to supervise. There will be one regularly scheduled conference in November. A bulletin announcing the dates and times will be sent home with your child. Parent Conference Pointers: §
Decide in advance what you need to talk
about; jot your questions or concerns down prior to coming to the school. §
Be prepared to give the teacher
information about your child. §
Leave brothers and sisters at home
whenever possible. §
Listen and share; take notes. §
Do not expect more than a teacher can
give. §
When you return home, review the
conference and decide what next steps you should take to continue helping
your child. Communication with School: Communication is a two-way process between you and your school. In general you will be most successful taking care of any matter if you contact the person who is most directly involved. Here are some general guidelines to follow: Contact the classroom teacher
