Biography Night: is Set! Mark your calendars for January 23rd!

Orange Folders: Your student should bring an orange folder home every day. The folder will have homework and other important papers. Please help your student be responsible and check it every night.

Homework: There will be homework given Monday-Thursday. Students will read for 30 minutes every evening. On Friday a Reading Log will be due, where the students will write in what they read, a summary and a connection that you will be asked to sign. There will also be other math, and possibly reading homework assigned throughout the week. Homework will always be in the orange folder, so please be sure to check it along with your student.

A note about math homework:

If your student ever comes home and isn’t sure how to solve their math, please feel free to use your expertise to help them. If they are unable to finish it, all they need to do is bring back the sheet and write me a note about what they have questions about. Homework is simply an opportunity to practice what we’ve learned in class, so if there are still questions, it’s not a problem and we can all work through them together. Also, at the beginning of each math unit, you will get a letter home that has guidance for the homework.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I am available to talk to you in person before or after school. You can also call me at 252-8240 or e-mail me at kanapolitan@seattleschools.org.
