Room 109

Alex Schad

Welcome!  My name is Alex Schad.  I am a Second grade teacher at Highland Park Elementary School.  I have been teaching children for over 14 years.

Come to Room 109 and you will see that this is a learning place.  Everything I do is influenced by the benefits to be derived ultimately by my students. I am extremely dedicated to high academic achievement. I also believe that it is vitally important for my students to be well-rounded and prepared through a comprehensive curriculum. I want my students to develop good habits of mind and heart. I take my work seriously.  I believe what I do can touch a life forever.

Homework Policy:

I believe that homework reinforces class work through practice and extension.  It gives students the opportunity to display responsible behavior and to extend the conditions under which they learn.  I assign homework on Tuesday to be returned the following Monday.  I believe that homework is ultimately the responsibility of the students.  Homework assignments are at a level that enables students to work independently and are evaluated according to the student’s capacity.  I ask that parents or guardians check and sign all work before it is turned in.
