Room 108

Jean Wylie

Welcome to Room 108’s Website!

We have been doing a lot of fun learning this year in room 108.  We have been learning and review our school rules of making good choices, solving problems, and showing respect as well as developing rules for our classroom. Our classroom rules are:

  1. Follow directions
  2. Raise your hand to share
  3. Keep your hands and feet to yourself
  4. Do your best work
  5. Have fun

We have been focusing on these as we complete our daily self-checks for our behavior.

A few important items:

Green Folders:  These come home with students every day.  Inside are homework pages, school notices and bulletins, and other important information about school.  Please check for the green folder every day and help your child remember to bring it to school each day.

Homework:  There is a reading log for each day of the week.  Your student should read for 20 minutes each day.  I will send books home on Mondays from our classroom library.  Every day, your student should read and fill in the reading log and have you initial.  The books and reading logs are due back on Fridays.  There is also daily math homework Monday through Thursday.  These sheets should be completed and returned to school the next day.  Students also complete a daily self-check.  These sheets are in the green folder and will let you know what kind of a day your student had at school.  There is also space on this sheet for communication between you and myself.

As always, you can call me at 252-8267.  I can also be reached by email at jywylie@seattleschools.org.  Good times to catch me in the classroom are before school every day but Monday and after school on Thursday and Friday.  My planning time is 1:25-2:05 daily, and I can often take or make phone calls then.  Please feel free to stop by our classroom anytime to join in the fun and learning!

Thanks,

Jean Wylie
