Our
recent "Books Around the World" book drive collected three boxes of
books. These books were claimed by Dan Docter to send to the children of the
Tembe School. This school is located in a Zulu village adjacent to the Tempe
Elephant Park in South Africa, near the border of Swaziland. While in South
Africa Mr. Docter visited this school and noticed there was a great need for
books as well as other basic school supplies. He was one of a group of Fulbright
Scholars, sponsored by the World Affairs Council in Seattle, who visited South
Africa for three days last summer.
Future book collections may be used to send to other identified schools that are in need of children's books.
