Our Mission

Hamilton International Middle School will provide rigorous academic curricula to prepare students for a diverse and technological society so that students will contribute to and succeed in the larger global community.

Hamilton’s outstanding faculty is led by principal Katie Cryan Leary. Hamilton International Middle School strives for academic excellence while integrating a global perspective throughout the curriculum. Hamilton offers a focus on World Languages, including a three year Spanish and Japanese program. A Spanish and Japanese immersion program for advanced speakers is also available.

Students at Hamilton International Middle School study Math, Science, Language Arts and Social Studies (taught in a 100 minute “block"), a World Language (Spanish or Japanese), International Arts (1 quarter performing arts / I quarter visual arts), and Physical Education (1 semester each year). 7th period Instrumental Music and International Choir classes are offered as part of the extended day program. Math and Reading support classes are also available for students needing additional support of growth in these areas.

The HOST after-school program, run by the YMCA Community Learning Center, offers an amazing array of activities for students, including sports and academic sessions.

The Spectrum program for highly capable students is offered in language arts and social studies. Honors classes are offered in math. HIMS offers classes to support English Language Learners (ELL) and Special Education students in either an inclusion and/or self-contained classroom approach.

Our vision at Hamilton is that all students will attain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed and contribute in a global society.
