2007-2008 Action Plan 1 School: Nathan Hale High School
Goal: Improve Math achievement on WASL by 5% each year with a
focus on eliminating the achievement gap
Strategy: Adopt Interactive Mathematics Program (IMP) for primary math
text (accompanied by quality professional development) and implement “Open
Honors” system
Rationale: Although 66.2% of our
students met standard on the06-07 math portion of the WASL, there is a
significant gap for African American students; 13.8% met standard on the math
portion of the 06-07 WASL.
How did staff participate in setting this strategy? Math has lowest achievement data on WASL. It is an area of concern for the entire school. Staff Senate has endorsed this emphasis.
