Called to Order 3:15; Majority in Attendance

I.                    Approval of Minutes

a.       Minutes were corrected as follows:  the Weighted Student Formula is now called the Weighted Staffing Standard; also, the main purpose of the Upper House retreat is to discuss and design the Spring Project.

b.      Motion called for acceptance of minutes as corrected; seconded. Motion carried and minutes were approved.

II.                 Principal’s Report

a.       Budget - the new formula allocates people. Staffing for 08-09 should be stable. The allocation is flexible enough to meet our needs. Waivers are due 3/7. Projected AAFTE (# of students) is 1048.  Meeting dates will be established to discuss specific issues. The principal will send out dates via email. The district has given us 2 Assistant Principals (whereas we have 1 + a Dean of Students), a full time Career Center Specialist, and a full time Library Assistant. The second Assistant Principal would provide instructional support and is a different position than we currently have. We need to evaluate our needs to establish how we want our building to be staffed.

III.               Old Business

a.       Counselor Caseload – constituents provided positive feedback. Counselors will move forward. Proposal to change division of caseload by alphabet was made; Motion carried.
