Things I like about Nathan
Hale
Comments from this year’s freshmen

Ø
You don’t have to worry
about being made fun of. You can be
yourself.
Ø
I like Nathan Hale,
because of the diversity. I came from a
really preppy school and it’s nice to be accepted for who you are.
Ø
I am learning something
new everyday (not the same stuff over and over again.)
Ø
I am able to be myself,
because no one will judge me.
Ø
I enjoyed learning about
the culture and customs of India in both language arts and history classes.
Ø
I can be myself, and I
should never try to be someone I’m not.
Ø
I’ve learned how to be
organized.
Ø
We start 45 minutes
later than other high schools and we have late start days
Ø
No cliques, cool kids
Ø
This has been the first
year where I actually enjoyed, understood and got a high grade in Social
Studies, thanks to my awesome teacher.
Ø
I’ve never been bullied
by upper classmen. They are friendly
towards freshman- such a relief!
Ø
I love all the arts
class like photo, drama and song/music making class.
Ø
I really like
mentorship, because it allows me to maintain a close friendship with the same
group of students I met on the first day of school.
Ø
I have learned to grow
up this year.
Ø
I like the schedule--on
Wednesday = 1,3,5 and on Thursday = 2, 4,6.
I like how we change block classes every quarter.
Ø
The most interesting
thing that I’ve done this year is to be Antigone for our play. I wanted a big part so I could show off my
personality since I’m usually really shy.
This gave me a chance to get to know people better.
Ø
There is more advanced
learning than at most other schools. It
was hard, but still it was interesting.
Ø
Nathan Hale offers so
many different activities and opportunities that would interest anyone.
Ø
There is a wide selection
of after school activities.
Ø
You are allowed to eat
your lunch anywhere in the school.
