Moderator: Mr. Uhlman, Rm. 209, louhlman@seattleschools.org

Mission:

  • To facilitate high school students’ exposure to professionally produced live opera
  • To help build a future audience for opera in Seattle to help insure the great tradition of opera in this city

History: Since January, 2001 when I first took 90 Nathan Hale juniors to Seattle Opera’s production of Benjamin Britten’s Billy Budd, I have been bringing students to see and hear our world-renowned opera company. During the course of these last six seasons, an estimated 1000 Hale students, staff and parents have attended the opera through this club. It is one of my favorite parts of each school year. Come be a part of the experience this season!

2007-2008 Events Calendar: The core experience of the Hale opera club is attending the four Seattle Opera dress rehearsals throughout the course of the school year. However, there are many other opportunities to experience opera. Click on the links below to find out more.
