Unforgettable Moments:
Nathan Hale is proud to be a partner with Naha Senior High School in Okinawa, Japan in an incredible 32-year student exchange program. Each year, students from Naha visit Nathan Hale, stay with families, visit classes and participate in many different cultural and fun activities in and around Seattle. This year, we welcomed 10 students and their teacher, Chinen Sensei, for two weeks. We gathered and shared food - Japanese, Okinawan and US favorites, visited EMP and Tillicum Village, and spent a day at Woodland Park Zoo. The Naha students experienced ice skating and inner-tubing at Snoqualmie - most had never seen snow before in their lives! We were very sad to see them go but are looking forward to visiting them in June 2007 when 12 Nathan Hale students and two teachers will set off on our own adventure to Japan, visiting Kyoto, Hiroshima and Okinawa. Stay tuned for photos and details from our trip!
