Projects:
Our group is addressing our theme "The Hourglass of Justice" in three different ways. A mural, performances, and video. See a summary of each below as well as links to pages detailing these projects.
Our Theme:
When the hour glass is tipped all the sand wants out, so there is chaos but after it's settled, there's peace. There is equality and truth within us. It's also like a funnel of life, everyone is pushing for the door. Problems keep gathering together and forced upon one another, then there is war, once it's over there are still problems, just like an hour glass, the sand can not escape. We control our own justice system, it does not control us.
Mural:
The mural group has put a huge amount of effort in to their mural. They have created a wonderful image that poeple will be able to enjoy for years to come. The group faced many troubles such as being rushed into a mural project with only two weeks to design, draw, and paint the entire mural.
Video
The three minute video created was done in Ken Burns effect. The group choose this style of video because of the ability it gave the video to have a powerful, moving feeling by the end of the video. The video incorporated how the oppression, revolution, and surrealism affected Cuba, Mexico, and Nicaragua.
Performances:
Our performance group has put together a production of the short story "Señor de la Peña" written by Elisio Diego. In addition to the skit, there will also be a musical performance done by the other half of the performance group.

The website group has been able to create a site that accurately displays the entire process that the class went through to make the Latin American Project a success. We would like to give a special thanks to Ms. Ballack, Ms. Dulllum, Ms. Overlie, and especially Mr. Hand for all his countless hours of help to the project.
