From
nice vacation to globalization |
The Task:
As the video group, their task was to
create a 3 minute thematic video, using the theme of Globalization, and
the topics of magical realism/surrealism, environment/nature,
indigenous culture, and revolution/oppression. They had access to movie
editing software, digital video cameras, and the Internet. After only
five days of hard work, the group's video was shown to the entire
tenth grade. What follows documents their progress and their result.
The Video:
The basic premise for the group's
video was that two friends who had gone to Mexico in the past decide to
return to see all the sights they had seen the first time. However,
they find that globalization has changed Mexico. In fact, it looks a
lot like Lake City Way back in their home town of Seattle. They are
very distraught about the loss of Mexico's individuality.

Making
the Video
|
Day 1
The video group is hard at work brainstorming ideas, trying to figure
out what they were going to show in their video. They began filming
right away. They shot footage for the introduction sequence which
consisted of two of the group members walking down the street and
ending up at someones house. They also shot some still pictures.

Day 2
The video group filmed some pictures of Mcdonalds, Taco Del
Mar, Enterprise rental car,Wendys, starbucks.

Day 3
They are almost done with the video. They are making finishing touches
on the video. Adding in the copy write. adding some pictures from
internet so it won't look like Lake city way.
